Dear Avie,
Today I was given a few gifts from a friend. I received a beautiful ring and a charm. The middle part of each piece of jewelry is made out of my breastmilk. These keepsakes will forever remind me of the milk that I produced to feed you.
I breastfed you for two and a half years, and you were not acting like you were going to be weaning anytime soon.
I now appreciate even the stretch marks that run across my breasts, because even they are a piece of you.
All I have now is just a few pieces of you, a piece of us.
