A Letter From Daddy

Dear Avie,

I love you so much.

I miss you more than I can express.

I miss everything about you.

Your smile, your laugh.

How you would cruise the toy isle, ever so carefully choosing a toy that you knew I would buy for you.

Thank you for letting me be your Daddy while you were here on earth.

I was good at it.

I’m so proud of you.

You did so much in two and a half years that I prayed I could do in 32 years.

I aspire to be like you.

You have forever changed me, even more so now than on the day we were blessed with you.

I’m not the only one either.

Look at all of these friends that you have here.

I promise to live better, to see through your eyes, to walk with your feet, and to love with your heart.

Jesus is taking care of you now.

I know I will see you again in heaven.

We will dance and sing and play house as soon as I get there.

Maybe when I get there we can go check out some toys.
